The Russo Brothers’ first film since 2022’s The Gray Man is finally here. Making waves earlier this year with the announcement about returning to Marvel Studios for the Robert Downey Jr. starrers Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, the pair is finally back for The Electric State.
On October 17th, Netflix released the first trailer for the upcoming film. Set to the tune of Oasis’ “Champagne Supernova”, the trailer sees Millie Bobby Brown’s Michelle, an orphaned teenager, team up with the drifter Keats (Chris Pratt) in an effort to find her little brother. The twist? The world is set in an alternative version of the 90s, featuring a robotic uprising. You can watch the full-length trailer below:
A poster was also released for the series, featuring the bright yellow robot, indicating that it will be used prominently during the marketing of the film. You can see that poster below:
On top of this, the trailer featured a synopsis for the film, detailing the plot for the action-sci-fi film. It reads as follows:
“Set in the aftermath of a robot uprising in an alternate version of the ’90s, The Electric State follows an orphaned teenager who ventures across the American West with a cartoon-inspired robot, a smuggler, and his sidekick in search of her younger brother.”
The Electic State is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars a Hollywood A-list ensemble, comprising Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, Woody Norman, Martin Klebba, Brian Cox, Anthony Mackie, Billy Bob Thornton, Alan Tudyk and Woody Harrelson. The film releases on Netflix on March 14, 2025.
