‘DCKO’ Announcement Trailer: Free To Play Fighter Coming To Mobile Devices

With seemingly no teasing at all, DC has just announced DCKO. The game, developed by DropFake, is an upcoming 2v2, free-to-play fighting game coming soon to mobile devices. The game shares a name with the DC KO comic run which sees various heroes and villains participating in a tournament, the winner receives enough energy to confront Darkseid who returned to the DC Universe following the creation of the Absolute Universe. The trailer, which lasts for a minute, opens with a shot of Batman in the Batcave. At first glance the game features a colorful, cel-shaded art style. The DC logo appears and we see that Batman is facing off against Superman, after the Warner Brothers logo, it’s shown that Robin is on Team Batman. Finally, the DropFake logo is shown and we see that Wonder Woman accompanies Superman. The battle begins, we see Batman using his grappling gun as an attack before Robin tags in. Wonder Woman is then seen facing off against Batman on top the roof of the Daily Planet in Metropolis, she and Superman seemingly use a team-up attack to take down Batman. 

We cycle through some of the roster including Poison Ivy, Constantine, Nightwing, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes), Harley Quinn, and Lex Luthor. Constantine and Nightwing face off in what appears to be a Court Of Owls Colosseum stage followed by Catwoman and Nightwing facing off in a sewer. Nightwing is accompanied by Starfire, while Catwoman is accompanied by Bane. In the next scene we see our first look at character customization, Catwoman is now wearing a Purple Suit (they are also fighting in the streets of Gotham) and Starfire is seen wearing a different outfit while doing the Saranghae (Korean for “I Love You”) hand symbol which could be an emote or victory animation. 

Nightwing and Wonder Woman face off against Doomsday, Wonder Woman seemingly uses an ultimate attack which involves spinning her Lasso of Truth, seemingly the pair is fighting in a lower level of the Hall Of Justice. Some more battles are shown including Constantine versus Blue Beetle, Catwoman versus Robin, and Wonder Woman & Superman versus Doomsday. In a battle between Batman and Lex Luthor, Batman is seen wearing the blue and gray suit while they fight near a museum. The trailer closes out with a battle between Bane and Starfire, this segment shows off three stages including the previously seen sewer, a castle, and destroyed city where a “The Age Of Lex Luthor” poster can be seen in the background implying it’s another stage set in Metropolis. The DCKO logo is shown with the caption “Pre-Register Now,” a link to the website is also included.

Pre-Registration is done in just a few simple steps:

1. Head to the Play DCKO website and find the “Pre-Register” button in the top right. 
2. Enter your email address in the “Email” section.
3. Check the box that says “I’m 13+ and accept the terms and privacy policy”. You can also check the box that says “Send me extra updates from DCKO and DC” but it isn’t necessary for pre-registration.
4. Check the box that says “Verify you are human” and click the “Pre-Register” button below.

Once that’s done you’ll receive an email confirming that you’ve been pre-registered for the game.
