Tickets for the latest Sidemen Charity Match went on sale at 9 AM on Monday 18th November and by 12, they had all sold out.
Earlier this month, the Sidemen announced that after a year hiatus, their somewhat-annual charity match would be returning for another game. This time, it would be in March as opposed to their usual end of year matches that happen around September-November. The biggest change, though, was the massive upgrade in venue. 2025’s charity match would be at Wembley Stadium, the biggest in the United Kingdom.
The group has massively evolved the event every time it has occurred. The first charity match, in 2016, was held at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton and had a capacity of only 15,000, though there were over 600,000 viewers on YouTube and they managed to raise £110,000 for charity. In the following years, from 2017-22, the match was held at The Valley in Charlton. Whilst an improvement, as it has a capacity of just under 28,000, it still wasn’t enough for how big the Sidemen and the evergrowing list of guests were. Ultimately, in 2023, the Sidemen upgraded to London Stadium, the home of Premiere League team West Ham United. London Stadium has a huge capacity of 63,000 – almost triple the size of the last stadium that they played it but it was evident that a bigger stadium was needed. It was proven that they made the right choice as the tickets for the event sold out in just 2 hours, solidifying the Sidemen’s huge fanbase and the demand for more matches.
Despite not doing anything in 2024 and even questioning whether they would return to doing more matches, this was an opportunity that couldn’t be missed. The group confirmed, in early November, that they would be playing their next match on March 8th, 2025 at Wembley Stadium, which is the biggest in the entire country. The stadium has a capacity of 90,000 – it’s huge. Following Sidemen Charity Match 2025 tickets going on sale, the Sidemen announced just under 3 hours after tickets went on sale that they had sold out. The demand was, and still is, crazy for the event and fans will be looking out for resale and tickets that are sold closer to the date. At one point, the queue for tickets reached over 120,000 people and with 6 tickets available per person, it was clear not everyone was going to get one.
This is mighty impressive and shows the grand reach that the Sidemen have – even international fans were desperate to get tickets. All of this is impressive enough on its own, but then you add in the fact that the guests that will be joining them and playing alongside and opposite the group have not even been announced yet. Whilst it’s likely that frequent Sidemen collaborators such as ChrisMD, WillNE, George Clarkey and even the mega iShowSpeed will return to join any of the teams in this match, this is all speculation and nobody has been announced yet. All of these tickets have been sold on the mere premise and excitement that the group have managed to build as well as the potential of the players they could get on the pitch. With many spots to fill, it’s likely that everyone’s favourite YouTubers are going to be on the field next year.
Sidemen consists of Joshua Bradley, Harry Lewis, Vikram ‘Vik’ Barn, Olajide ‘JJ’ Olatunji, Simon Minter, Tobit ‘Tobi’ Brown and Ethan Payne.
