Linkin Park is back after a seven-year hiatus following the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington, who passed away in 2017. The event rattled not only the band but the entire world, leaving an empty void where a great man once entertained millions. Before going on this long hiatus, the band had released culturally resonating classics such as “In The End”, “Numb”, “What I’ve Done”, “Faint”, “Bleed It Out” as well as many others.

Now Linkin Park is back, this time with a new vocalist and drummer, Emily Armstrong of rock band Dead Sara, and Papa Roach alumni Colin Brittain joining the fray, with the latter replacing founding member and drummer Rob Bourdon, who opted to retire from the band.

The move was announced in a livestreamed performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, in which the band played classics as well as a new single, “The Emptiness Machine” from the upcoming From Zero album. Mike Shinoda, who is a longtime member of the band, spoke in a press release for the announcement saying “This [Emily Armstrong] isn’t a replacement for Chester Bennington, this is the start of a new Linkin Park, and I’m all for it.”

Audiences have had mixed reception to the announcement, with some criticising Armstrong’s involvement with the Church of Scientology and her support of That ‘70s Show star Danny Masterson during his rape trial, in which he was convicted.

The band will be releasing From Zero with all eleven tracks on November 14th, 2024. The tracklist is as follows:

1. “From Zero (Intro)”
2. “The Emptiness Machine”
3. “Cut the Bridge”
4. “Heavy Is the Crown”
5. “Over Each Other”
6. “Casualty”
7. “Overflow”
8. “Two Faced”
9. “Stained”
10. “IGYEIH”
11. “Good Things Go”

In addition, Linkin Park will also be touring six different dates over four continents as part of the From Zero: World Tour. You can now stream “The Emptiness Machine” on every major audio streaming platform, and you can find the Spotify link below:
