Scott Derrickson’s next film, and his first of 2025, followed by The Black Phone 2, has just dropped some first looks courtesy of entertainment site IGN. The first looks showcase our initial glimpses at Miles Teller (Whiplash) and Anya Taylor Joy (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga) as rival sniper operatives who watch over a gigantic pit.

Speaking to IGN, Doctor Strange filmmaker Scott Derrickson stated:

The Gorge blends multiple genres — romance, science fiction, action, spy thriller and even horror, the idea was to first invest a lot of time into the backstories and evolving connection between the two characters played by Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, and then see them thrust into survival mode amidst the unrelenting and unpredictable dangers and mysteries of the gorge itself.”

Also starring in the film is Sigourney Weaver, who herself will also appear in Avatar: Fire And Ash late next year. No further details have been disclosed about her role in the film.

How Long Is ‘The Gorge’?

Despite The Gorge not receiving a precise release date beyond the year 2025, we have a possible runtime for the film.

Apple TV+ (AG) lists the film as 2 hours 7 minutes long. This is considerably longer than Derrickson’s The Black Phone which stood at 1 hour 42 minutes long.
