Game of Thrones fans can be excited today with the announcement of two new seasons of Game of Thrones content, a new season each of House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, as well as a release window for the third season of House of the Dragon.

It’s been a long year since the release of House of the Dragon Season 2 so fans will be excited to hear that in addition to the greenlight and renewal of the show for a fourth season, with no end in sight, HBO has given a release window to the third season — Summer 2026, as well as several new look images.

This means that two Game of Thrones series will air next year, with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms taking off in January and House of the Dragon likely airing in June, like Season 2 of the same show. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, an adaptation of the Dunk & Egg story, will also get a second season, with HBO saying that the new seasons of HOTD and AKOTSK will alternate, releasing yearly through 2028.

House of the Dragon tells the tale of the Targaryens, 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It focuses on the Green and Black factions, warring for the throne of Westeros. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set to bridge that gap somewhat, set only about 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Two new images were released for House of the Dragon Season 3, one showing Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra Targaryen, and the other showing Matt Smith’s blood covered Daemon Targaryen entering battle.
