‘Dune: Prophecy’ Season 2 To Officially Release In 2026

Dune: Prophecy will officially return in 2026 according to a new sizzle reel that also revealed new looks.

'Dune: Prophecy' Season 2 To Officially Release In 2026

Originally a miniseries, Dune: Prophecy was renewed immediately after the finale of the first season back in 2024. The finale left a lot to be resolved, which of course means that Dune fans are intrigued as to where this prequel about the creation of the Bene Gesserit will go. Find the footage here and the short scenes below:

In the new footage, which consists of about a second in length, two shots are shown. One of some women in dresses, and another of Valya Harkonnen (played by Emily Watson). It’s not a lot, but it does give us some idea of when the second season will release. Due to the amount of footage and the fact that production is still ongoing, it’s likely that the show isn’t quite ready yet and will likely release later in the year, possibly in a similar release window as Season 1, which aired through November.

The second season began production only last month in Hungary, Jordan, and Spain. Several of these locations were also used for the production of the past Dune films and the upcoming Dune: Part Three, which adapts Dune: Messiah. With this newfound release date, this will be the second year where a Dune film and a season of Dune: Prophecy will be released, last happening in 2024.
