A new report from The Cosmic Circus states Cobra Kai actor Xolo Maridueña confirmed that Kumail Nanjiani will indeed be the DCU’s Booster Gold, as first reported by Nexus Point News

It’s a casting that has somewhat divided fans, and with James Gunn yet to acknowledge it on social media, its legitimacy is becoming more and more feasible.

‘Superman’ Wraps Filming

The first feature film in the DCU has just wrapped shooting, following principal photography in Norway and Ohio as well as various other locations. The wrap was announced by James Gunn in a new Instagram post with the cast and crew on location in Svalbard, Norway. The shoot lasted a total of 153 days, which equates to 5 months and 2 days of filming.

David Corenswet also shared a wrap video, stuffing his face with chocolate cake, marking the end to his dieting for his role of Clark Kent/Superman.

Superman will now enter its post-production and marketing processes ahead of its July 11, 2025 release.

Lanterns is in development at HBO by DC Studios and has had eight episodes ordered.

‘Creature Commandos’ Scores Kevin Kiner And Clint Mansell As Composers

The upcoming DCU series, Creature Commandos, has gained two composers, in an announcement from DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn on Threads. Composing duo Kevin Kiner and Clint Mansell will be scoring the Max series.

Kevin Kiner is best known for his work in the Star Wars universe, scoring Rebels, The Clone Wars, Ahsoka and more. He has previously worked with Gunn on Peacemaker Season 1 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Clint Mansell is most famously known for his collaborations with Darren Aronofsky (who is currently rumoured to be directing a DCU Plastic-Man project), but has scored several DC projects in the past including Doom Patrol, Titans and Peacemaker Season 1.

Creature Commandos is currently in post-production at DC Studios and will be released on Max in December of this year.

The latest DC animated project, Batman: Caped Crusader has been released. The series follows a 1940s-era Batman grappling with villainy in Gotham. All ten episodes are now streaming on Prime Video and average an approximate runtime of 25 minutes for each episode.

The series currently holds a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 73 Metacritic score. We deemed the show “as an interesting take on the character, and while its premise has a lot of potential, the inventiveness of the writers is bipolar.” You can find our full review of the series here
