On July 7th, 2026, Paramount dropped the official trailer for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, a theatrical sequel to the 2005 animated series. This follows a recent release date change from October 2026 to July 25th, 2026. You can view the trailer below:
The trailer, which lasts for 2 minutes and 24 seconds, opens outside one of the air temples with a flying bison. Appa is seen flying above the ocean and we hear Aang (Eric Nam) say, “I’m the last airbender” to which Katara (Jessica Matten) responds, “You may be the last airbender but you’re not alone.” A brief shot of an Earth City is shown followed by Aang (in the Avatar State) using airbending on a mountaintop. Aang continues, “I’m the Avatar. I found allies from every nation.” A group shot with a young Aang, Katara, Sokka (Román Zaragoza) and Toph Beifong (Dionne Quan) is shown. We see a brief shot of the Fire Nation where Aang finishes, “And together, we ended the 100-Year War.”
Aang and Katara are seen on a balcony where Katara says, “Aang, because of you, all of the nations live together in peace and harmony.” We see Katara in a town square of sorts, using her waterbending she reveals flags of all four elements: Fire, Air, Water and Earth. Aang responds, “All except mine.” We see Aang standing in front of an orb of ice where someone breaks free, we cut to a mysterious airbender who we know as Tagah (Dave Bautista). In the next scene, Toph jokes that her senses can tell that the airbender is attractive, Sokka is a bit confused and to everyone’s suprise Zuko confirms that he is attractive highlighting that its “all in the bone structure.”
A Fire Nation airship is shown, the airbender tells Aang that together they can “build a new world” which is accompanied by the two getting along. We cut to Sokka welcoming the airbender to Team Avatar, the trailer then shifts to the villain of the film who seemingly holds a grudge against the avatar. Aang faces off against some of this group, their leader says they need “what the benders have, Power.” Which is followed by Aang amazed by a mysterious staff. We cut to a city seemingly being destroyed while Team Avatar is trying to save it. To an offscreen character, Aang says, “This isn’t the way. We can bring back balance, PEACE.”
Some more action shots are shown such as Aang using airbending to hold back a falling mountain, Team Avatar facing off against a group of ninjas who can use airbending, a shot of Toph, Katara, Tagah holding the spear from earlier except now it glows red. Team Avatar jump through a portal and we cut to another group shot of the team. Another montage shows Toph teaching metalbending, Katara, Sokka and Zuko fighting with Tagah. Zuko is then seen stopping an explosion. The trailer ends with Aang entering the Avatar State and seemingly using airbending at a temple-like structure. The logo is shown followed by the release date, July 25th, 2026 on Paramount+.
