‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Episode 1 Ending Explained

Following Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) election as the mayor of New York, his establishment of an Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) and the construction of the Red Hook Port Prison to house said vigilantes. It’s up to Daredevil (Charlie Cox) to form a resistance to fight back and return order to his home. Read the official synopsis below:

Today we’ll recap and discuss the ending of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episode 1, “The Northern Star.”
What Happens At The End Of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Episode 1?

In 2×01, “The Northern Star,” we open to Matt’s latest attempt at sending a message to Mayor Fisk, this time taking down a ship bringing weapons into New York. We’re also reintroduced to all the main characters, including Heather Glenn, Kirsten McDuffie, Cherry, and a new character, Mr. Charles. As the episode goes on we learn of a rival news outlet that hopes to expose the truth about Fisk, something that BB Urich has seemingly had to give up on in an attempt to play nice with Fisk. Additionally, Heather is haunted by her encounter with Muse, prompting her to hallucinate him at times. We also learn that BB is a source of information for Karen, and she’s likely the one who helped uncover the truth of The Northern Star’s weapon shipment.
By the end of the episode following the death of Achilleo Kyriacou, the Captain of The Northern Star, we see that Christofi Saava, the first mate, meets with Ariana in an attempt to quietly leave New York and escape the AVTF. Meanwhile, Cherry is interrogated by the AVTF in his apartment, Daredevil comes in to save him but is distracted by memories of Foggy’s death leading to him being overwhelmed and his identity revealed. However, his secret remains safe as Bullseye kills the AVTF Soldiers and throws a knife which reads, “You’re welcome.”

The first seven episodes of season two are now streaming on Disney+. The season finale premieres on May 5th, 2026 at 6:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM ET.
