‘Marvel Rivals’ Season 2.5: Twitch Drops & Combat Chest

The next batch of Twitch Drops and the first Combat Chest for Marvel Rivals are now live.

Marvel Rivals is a 6-versus-6 third-person shooter where heroes and villains from across different timelines and realities must team up and face off to stop the threat of two Doctor Dooms, one from present day and another from the year 2099 who have simultaneously caused an event known as the Timestream Entanglement, causing various timelines to merge with each other.

With the launch of the Season 2.5 update for Marvel Rivals, a new batch of Twitch Drops has been released featuring the “Will of Galacta” outfit for Emma Frost. Today we’ll be going over how to earn the Twitch Drops and claim your rewards in-game.

Twitch Drops Explained And How To Earn Them

Twitch Drops are limited-time rewards given to viewers after watching streams of a certain category (in this case, Marvel Rivals) for a set amount of time. Progress is saved between streams, meaning that should a streamer end their gameplay, you can pick up where you left off on another livestream.

For Marvel Rivals between now and June 27th at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET, you can earn Will of Galacta cosmetics for Emma Frost. See the table below for a detailed look at the cosmetics and the time required for each.

After reaching the allocated watch time, you must head to the Drops & Rewards page, where you can claim each cosmetic. First time users will be prompted to connect either their Steam, Epic Games, Microsoft, PlayStation, or NetEase Games account to claim the rewards. Once claimed, you can find the rewards in the in-game mailbox.

Combat Chest Explained

A new addition to Marvel Rivals following the Season 2.5 content update is the Combat Chest, a sort of “mini battle pass” which lasts until the end of the season on July 11th at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET. The Combat Chest features 24 different rewards, mostly based on new outfits for Storm, Mr. Fantastic, and Magnet,o but the Combat Chest also introduces a new feature called Moods.

Combat Chest Breakdown: Every Reward Available

The Combat Chest consists of 24 rewards, 10 of which can be earned for free while the remaining rewards are available with the Premium Edition. Like the battle pass, the Combat Chest is only here for a limited time (until July 11th at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET) however if you purchase the Premium Combat Chest for 690 Lattice (approximately $7 USD) you can keep the Combat Chest permanently and complete it at your own pace. You can level up the Combat Chest by playing matches, each level requires 1800 Combat Chest XP. Wins grant approximately 800 XP while defeats grant approximately 400 XP. There is a daily XP limit of 7200 or 4 Combat Chest Levels. Alternatively, you can purchase Combat Chest levels for 200 Lattice each or spend a total of 4600 Lattice to unlock the full Combat Chest.

Should you fail to complete the Combat Chest or not purchase the Premium edition in time, the cosmetics featured are expected to return through the in-game item shop at a later date.

What Are Moods And Emojis?

Moods and emojis are a new way to express yourself both during matches and outside of them. At launch, there are three sets based on Jeff the Land Shark, Galacta and a Default version. Moods can be displayed on your nameplate, friends list, and career profile, while Emojis are used in matches via the emote wheel. 

In addition to the moods and emojis you unlock through the Combat Chest, a Jeff the Land Shark Mood Bundle is available in the item shop for 400 units.

Marvel Rivals is developed by NetEase and is available for free on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

The Season 2.5 Twitch Drops are live until June 27th at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET. The Combat Chest is available from now until July 11th at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET.
