The final runtime for Joker: Folie à Deux has surfaced online, which will be released in theaters on October 4th this year.
The highly anticipated sequel to Todd Phillip’s Joker is set to hit theaters on October 4th. The film is expected to receive much acclaim and award nominations during next year’s award season. Joker: Folie à Deux stars Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz and Catherine Keener. The film follows Arthur Fleck meeting Harley Quinn, the love of his life, as the two embark on a musical, romantic adventure full of chaos.
As the first film managed to secure a Best Actor win for Joaquin Phoenix, the sequel seems to be getting Oscar buzz as well. It is very likely that Lady Gaga receives a Best Supporting Actress nomination, adding to her number of Oscar nominations after earning a Best Actress nomination and Best Original Song win for 2018’s A Star Is Born. How Long Is ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’?
While the first film clocked in at a runtime of 2h 2m, we can confirm that the final runtime of Joker: Folie à Deux clocks in at 2 hours and 17 minutes with credits, and 2 hours and 9 minutes without credits.
Despite not being much longer than its predecessor, the film is still longer by an entire 15 minutes. Joker opened to both critical and commercial success five years ago, hopefully leading to the same acclaim for the sequel as well. The dark twisted musical approach the film is taking this time seems to excite a lot of people, at least online. People have even been comparing the musical and cinematic elements with 2016’s La La Land, even dubbing the film “Ha Ha Land.”
Joker: Folie à Deux is directed by Todd Philips and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beetz, and Catherine Keener. It will be released worldwide starting October 4th, 2024.
