‘Lanterns’ Official Writing Credits

Lanterns writing credits are out. Here are who the writers are and their resumes.

Lanterns is the DCU’s second official live action series and the first to premiere on HBO; here are the writing credits and what the writers’ resumes include.

Lanterns was first announced in DCU’s initial slate video. James Gunn described the show as similar to True Detective as more of a grounded story that revolves around a mystery. Later it was revealed that Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King were all working on the show as writers. Mundy was announced to be the showrunner while King and Lindelof both got creator credits.

The show was initially set for HBO Max but soon after Mundy was hired, it was announced it would be a proper HBO show. Soon after, Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre were cast as the leads playing Hal Jordan and John Stewart, respectively.

This is Tom King’s first film or TV credit, but he has a long history with comic books as a writer. Lindelof is credited for the most episodes of Lanterns, with 4 episodes, followed by Tom King, with 3. Chris Mundy, the showrunner, is credited for 2 episodes, the premiere and the finale, which isn’t too surprising considering he only has 8 credits for Ozark despite showrunning for its entire 44-episode run and is credited for almost every single premiere episode and finale exclusively.
