‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Episode 12 Review: Do As I Say Not As I Do
Another week, another episode of The Pitt. Here is our review for The Pitt Season 2 Episode 12 which is out now.
Hour 12 of The Pitt picks back up at 6:00 PM for Season 2 Episode 12; here is our review for it.
It’s almost always a good episode of The Pitt when Dana is at the forefront, which she is in this episode. We pick up from the end of Episode 11, where we saw Emma get assaulted by a male patient who had her in a chokehold. To kick off the episode, we see Dana hear this and go running into the room. We cut away and don’t see exactly what happens other than the aftermath which is the assailant on the ground with a bloody nose, which Robby quickly asks Dana about. Dana says he slipped, but as the hour goes on, we learn there’s a lot more to the story.
Another twist is that we learn that Al-Hashimi did not in fact hear the conversation that Langdon and Santos had, but she’s quickly filled in on the fact that Langdon stole drugs from the Pitt after she asks Robby what is going on between them. This sours her budding interest in Langdon’s doctorial skills.
In many ways this is as much of a Robby episode as a Dana episode, mostly because they share a huge number of scenes and all of them are very good. It’s clear nobody at the Pitt knows Robby better than Dana and vice versa. Them working together for so long gives both of them a great read on each other which is why they’re both on the money when they have those types of conversations.

Here the Robby read/Dana reveal is that ever since she got punched by Doug Driscoll (S1 of the Pitt) she has been carrying around a vial of versed (a medication used for sedation) in her pocket if Doug ever came back. That’s what she uses to save Emma from the guy. On the other hand Dana makes the perfect read on Robby which is “It’s always as I do and not as I say with you isn’t it?”
This entire season and even parts of last season have been Robby blowing up on people over his own issues. It’s apparent in his interactions with Dr. Mohan especially that this is the case. Robby carries the weight of the Pitt on his shoulders when he shouldn’t have to. Dr. Al Hashimi makes a suggestion to have two attending doctors at all times, which Robby seemingly isn’t interested in either.
What I’m very very curious about is how they keep this going for 3 more episodes. The day shift is winding down and the night shift is coming in. Last time the PittFest extended things but it doesn’t seem like anything that major is going to keep the day shift for much longer.
This episode continues the tease of Robby’s trip, which I imagine could be it if he gets hurt while biking and is transported to the Pitt, but if there are three more episodes and the day staff are leaving in the next episode or two, it would have to happen soon to continue on with these characters.
All things considered The Pitt is at its strongest when it’s hitting on the personal drama points for the staff which this one certainly is.
