Whilst Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol is still airing, the The Walking Dead team attended New York Comic Con and dropped a new teaser for Dead City season 2.
The highly anticipated second season to AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City is right around the corner and as marketing slowly ramps up, the The Walking Dead team attended New York Comic Con to promote its currently airing series (Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol) and the new season of Dead City. In doing so, a new 36-second teaser for Dead City season 2 was released at both the panel and publicly, you can watch that below:
A first glimpse at the series was dropped back in July for San Diego Comic-Con, but was largely overshadowed by the first trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
This trailer has a large focus on the impact of power on New York City, the eponymous Dead City. The power mentioned refers both to the importance of electricity, as well as who holds the city, with the latter impacting the former. This seems to create an opening for Negan to grab a hold of the throne that is the Isle of the Dead, New York.
The series synopsis provided by AMC Networks reads as follows:
“The Walking Dead: Dead City follows fan-favorite characters Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.”
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, Lauren Cohan as Maggie, Keir Gilchrist as Benjamin Pierce, Dascha Polanco as Major Lucia Narvaez, Jake Weary as Christos, and Pooya Mohseni as Roksana, and is due for a Spring 2025 release on AMC and AMC+.
