Following Spider-Man (Tom Holland) recovering from his operation, with the help of Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) he manages to leave the hospital undetected, as he enters the crowd of fans wishing Spidey a speedy recovery, he sees everyone cheer and we learn that Frank has disguised himself as Spider-Man to distract everyone. Peter goes to visit Aunt May’s grave, replacing the flowers with fresh ones and he begins talking to her.

The next day, Spidey watches the sunrise as a brand new day begins, at the same time, MJ (Zendaya) sits atop the trio’s old high-school alone, also viewing the sunrise. We cut to Jean Grey (Sadie Sink) who, having learnt the truth about what happened to her sister Sara, is seen heading upstate on a bus– seemingly going to get a fresh start and leaving the events of NYC behind. Finally, at the local mini mart which Peter frequents, he sees Ned (Jacob Batalon) eating. He introduces himself as Peter, Ned doesn’t immediately connect the dots that this is the same Peter that MJ referred to Spider-Man as, instead remembering him as the “guy with flowers” at his party. Peter reaches to shake his hand and by muscle memory Ned remembers their secret handshake. He excitedly says “Peter!” Which Peter responds with a smile as the final scene.

What Happens In The Post Credits Scene?

The post credits scene opens to the Spidey Tracker app. The program’s voice says “Spidey Found, Location: ???.” The Spider-Man icon is initially seen in Queens, but after a few seconds, the map zooms out to a view of planet Earth. The tracker passes the moon and eventually lands on an unknown empty part of outer space. The voice says the location is found before the scene ends. A line of text appears on screen stating: “Spider-Man will return.”

It isn’t entirely clear what the ramifications of this scene are at this time but we can do some light speculation. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is currently not expected to have a role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film, but fans may know that Peter Parker plays an integral role in Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars (2015) comic that the follow-up to Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, is mostly pulling from. In that comic run, Spider-Man and a group of other heroes evade the consequences of the Incursion Crisis by taking refuge in giant spaceships known as Life Rafts.

What Is Spider-Man Brand New Day About?

Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker has essentially abandoned his normal life in favour of his web slinging alter ego, Spider-Man but this comes with a price as his body begins to change. In this new adventure he’ll also encounter a new threat with the ability to control minds. Read the official synopsis below:

“It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves—a powerful villain no one can even see.”
