‘Fortnite’ X ‘The Simpsons’ Returns In Reload Mode
Here’s what you need to know about the return of the Springfield Island Map in Fortnite Reload.
As part of the upcoming July 30th, 2026 content update for Fortnite, the Springfield Island map (which first appeared in Chapter 6: Mini Season 2) is set to make a return in Fortnite Reload. The announcement was made first in a community post followed by a trailer which you can view below:
In today’s article, we’ll take a look at what you can expect when The Simpsons return to the game.
Starting things off, the Springfield Island map will now hold 50 players (up from the usual 40 of the other Reload maps) and a new POI, The Confidential. This location is a neutral zone where passive healing and proximity chat are enabled. While no combat is allowed, anyone bending the rules will become an excommunicado. While they will have unlimited stamina and faster reload speeds, the excommunicado will be a marked target for everyone on the map. Only one player can be an excommunicado at a time and eliminating one grants you 1500 Gold and improved loot. Per the community post, “The Springfield map is the only map available in Reload till August 3, and then the map rotation will return, alongside Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush.”
Next up, the Springfield Island map is nothing without its lootpool and you can expect all the Simpsons themed items to return alongside a number of unvaulted items. See a list of every returning item and which ones are vaulted below:

John Wick Sprite & Battle Pass Missions
Following Fortnite’s previous teasing for the return of Springfield Island, John Wick will appear alongside a number of Reload Quests. Once you complete these missions and own the Chapter 7: Season 3 Battle Pass, you’ll be able to earn a Simpsonfied John Wick edit style. The Fortnite Chapter 7: Season 3 Battle Pass can be purchased for 800 V-Bucks (approximately $8.99 USD) or you can unlock it by subscribing to Fortnite Crew (approximately $11.99 USD/month) and have access to the Battle Pass alongside the latest OG Pass, Music Pass and LEGO Pass as long as your subscription is active.
A John Wick Sprite is also set to be available exclusively in Fortnite Reload, you can find the sprite by eliminating a player who has one equipped, in normal and sprite chests or by winning a match. The John Wick Sprite can reveal nearby enemies to you and your squad for a few seconds after you’ve knocked or eliminated an opponent and it’s the only Sprite usable in Fortnite Reload. A Reload Portable Extractor has also been added to assist players in adding the John Wick Sprite to their collection.
New Ranked And Map Mastery Rewards Incoming
Last but not least, a new Reload Ranked Season will begin, players can earn a number of rewards including the “Axe of Unreal” pickaxe, a new “Unreal Legends” rank has also been added.
Also part of the upcoming update are new Map Mastery Quests and players can earn a new Victory Umbrella by winning a match in either ranked or unranked.
Fortnite is developed by Epic Games. The game is available for free on all platforms including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Mobile Devices. Springfield Island arrives in Fortnite Reload on July 30th, 2026.
