Following a first look at the series, we officially have a release month for the second season of DC Studios’ Peacemaker.
Earlier this week, a slate sizzle reel advertising the upcoming projects for streaming service Max teased the upcoming second season of Peacemaker. In that look, we got our first look at Frank Grillo’s live-action portrayal of Rick Flag Sr., and our first looks at the 11th Street Kids in the second season. You can find our full breakdown of the footage here.
Max has announced the release period for Peacemaker, and it’s earlier than many were expecting, dating the season to August 2025. The report comes from IGN, which stated “The streamer also announced that Peacemaker Season 2 will be out August 2025 — just one month after the release of James Gunn’s Superman.”
Peacemaker is aiming for the August 2025 release, which puts the season only one month after the first DCU film, Superman. Superman began production in February, whilst Peacemaker season 2 began production with a pre-shoot in April, before entering full principal photography in June. It’s likely this close proximity between release dates is product of Superman needing more CGI than Peacemaker.
Peacemaker season 2 stars John Cena, Freddie Stroma, Frank Grillo, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, and Tim Meadows. It is executive produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran on behalf of Troll Court Entertainment, The Safran Company, and DC Studios. It is now slated for an August 2025 release. You can watch the first season of Peacemaker on Max now.
