Starring Keanu Reeves as a retired hitman living in an underworld of organized crime who is forced to take revenge against the men who stole his car and killed his dog. The movie sets off a series of events later followed up in Chapter 2, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. Reeves’ Wick ultimately takes a presumed last stand in Chapter 4 after defeating Bill Skarsgård’s The Marquis de Gramont, but given the latest film’s strong box office performance and increased fan activity, fans have been questioning: “When is John Wick Chapter 5?”
Is ‘John Wick Chapter 5’ Happening?
A new report from industry insider Daniel Richtman has a purported answer to this question, with a scoop that says John Wick Chapter 5 is in official development at Lionsgate.
He reports that Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as John Wick. Further, production is expected to start next year, possibly indicating a 2026 release date. It is unclear if franchise creator Chad Stahelski will return to direct.
What’s Next In The ‘John Wick’ Universe?
While John Wick Chapter 5 enters preproduction, fans will not have to wait another two years for more Wick content! John Wick Presents: Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves will release in theatres on June 6, 2025. A Lionsgate-produced series tentatively titled John Wick: Under The High Table is also in development and is set to star some franchise heavy hitters.
