DC Studios are reportedly prioritising the Bane Deathstroke movie for a 2028 release.

A new report suggests that DC Studios is prioritising the untitled Bane and Deathstroke movie to be their next theatrically released project following Man of Tomorrow.

The news, as revealed by The Wrap, alleges that DC Studios will be focusing on the project following the failure of Supergirl, though we still don’t exactly know what the movie is, only knowing that Bane and Deathstroke are characters in it. Theories for the film have the film being a Secret Six adaptation, whilst the possibility of it being a Salvation connected project, coming off the finale of Peacemaker Season 2, interests others.

With the project being prioritised after the events at the box office for Supergirl, it would not be surprising if the film was a Batman project, as Bane and Deathstroke are both Batman villains, though the latter is more directly associated with the Teen Titans (who also coincidentally have an upcoming project from Ana Noguiera). Could this project possibly be a Batman vs Arkham Asylum project?

Audiences first heard about the Bane Deathstroke project when it was reported that Matthew Orton (Captain America: Brave New World) handed in a script to DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. Since then, nearly a year and a half later, it has been reported that the studio has been circling directors, with Peacemaker Season 2 director Greg Mottola (Superbad) being high on the studios wishlist for the project.

Whilst the studios’ 2028 slate is unknown besides the Elseworlds Dynamic Duo project, fans had previously theorized Wonder Woman would follow Man of Tomorrow, with Ana Noguiera also penning that script, whilst casting rumours circulate.
