‘28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ Trailer To Release Next Week, New Poster Revealed
A new 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple trailer is already on the way and with that announcement, a new poster has also been released.
Following the success of June’s 28 Years Later, audiences are excited to return to an apocalypse-ravaged UK. The first instalment in the Years trilogy and the third film in the franchise overall was a box office success, and now, depending on the reception of The Bone Temple, audiences could be in for a third film in the trilogy, bringing back star Cillian Murphy as Jim.
Studio Sony Pictures revealed today an orange poster for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, using the silhouette of Ralph Fiennes’ Doctor Ian Kelson, showcasing images from the films. The poster shows the billing for the film too, confirming Ralph Fiennes will be top billed, with Sinners star Jack O’Connell (Jimmy Crystal) following and then 28 Years Later breakout Alfie Williams (Spike) in third.
The usage of the colour orange is interesting, as the franchise has always been associated with the colour red — the colour used to represent the rage virus that infects the entirety of the UK’s undead. This is interesting, as orange is a secondary colour, a product of mixing the colour red and the colour yellow. The colour red is often associated with danger, partly due to its association with blood, but certainly here because of its connotation of death.

The colour yellow has been known to be representative of happiness. With orange being a mix of the two (and also being symbolic of optimism and arrogance), it’s possible that the colour choice is representative of Spike’s journey, leaving his village in the first film and being captured by the Jimmies, and possibly ending up in the third film happy and content with life alongside his father Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson)
With this new poster, Sony also revealed that a full trailer will be released in exactly one week. Here is the full poster:
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Alex Garland. The film stars Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, Chi Lewis-Parry, and Cillian Murphy.
