‘Marvel Rivals’ Elders’ Chessboard Event Explained

The latest season-long event is here for season five, we’ll discuss each mission, their rewards and how to unlock the free Iron Spider skin for Spider-Man.

We’ve finally arrived at Marvel Rivals’ fifth season. This season highlights the wedding of Gambit and Rogue which got interrupted due to the Timestream Entanglement. As with each season we have a season-long event that players can participate in for numerous rewards and ultimately a free costume for one of the game’s heroes. Today we’ll discuss the event, the missions and rewards up for grabs.

Elder’s Chessboard Missions And Rewards

By completing the various missions players can obtain a large amount of Units, Chrono Tokens and cosmetics for the “Iron Spider” bundle. See every mission and their individual rewards below:

While players can now paint all eight chess pieces, you must complete the previous set of missions before moving on to the next.

Additionally players can earn up to three Gallery Cards and finally the “Iron Spider” Spider-Man Outfit by painting a certain number of chess pieces. See each reward and how many chess pieces are required below:

  • “About To Make A Name For Myself” Gallery Card – 2 Pieces
  • “Phantoms Of The Past” Gallery Card – 4 Pieces
  • “Trouble In Paradise” Gallery Card – 6 Pieces
  • “Iron Spider” Spider-Man Outfit – 8 Pieces

The Gallery Cards are numbers 2 – 4 of the “Love Is A Battlefield” series. Gallery Cards 1 & 7 can be found on the sixth and twelfth pages of the Battle Pass, both can be redeemed for 200 Chrono Tokens each. Gallery Cards 5 & 6 will likely be available as free rewards in upcoming events.

Marvel Rivals is developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games. The game is available for free on PC, PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Elder’s Chessboard Event available until January 16th, 2026 at 2:00 AM PST / 5:00 AM EST.
