DC Studios Developing ‘Starfire!’ Solo Animated Series
Starfire will be receiving her own animated series, per DC Studios in a new press announcement.
DC Studios is on a roll with their Teen Titans-related projects, having just debuted several members in a post-apocalyptic vision in Creature Commandos, produced a miniseries about one of the greener members and a movie in development! Now, DC Studios has greenlit an animated series for Tamaran’s own Starfire.
Following the release of DC’s Beast Boy: Lone Wolf, a Cartoon Network show that we first confirmed with James Gunn to be the first DC Studios animated series, fans have been wondering when we would next get another DC Elseworlds animated project. Fans no longer have to wait with the announcement of Starfire!, a new project from DC Studios skewed towards a younger audience, but meant for the whole family.
Starfire! will follow our titular character, Princess Koriand’r, in an origin story for a new continuity of Teen Titans action, which is contrary to the status quo of Beast Boy: Lone Wolf. The logline of the series (per Variety) reveals that Koriand’r will find an ancient spaceship, that she will use to escape the planet Tamaran to explore the cosmos, meeting DC characters like Crush (daughter of space-biker Lobo) and Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld. Together, these characters (plus more!) will “uncover the deepest reaches of the DC universe, save Space Dolphins, surf technicolor nebulas, and boldly soar into the unknown.”

The show will hopefully introduce audiences to a whole new section of DC lore, one that has barely been touched upon in adaptations. Starfire has previously been featured in popular adaptations such as Teen Titans, New Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go! (Hynden Walch) and the adult series Titans (Anna Diop). Due to the fact Beast Boy: Lone Wolf featured long-time Beast Boy voice actor Greg Cipes in the starring role, it’s quite possible Hyden Walch will return once again to voice the Tamaranian.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) points out a similarity in colour choice for the logo of the series, comparing it to the colour palette of Teen Titans Go! Starfire, possibly implying that the series could spin off or prequel Titans Go!. Take a look for yourself below:
Writer Josie Campbell is expected to showrun the series as an executive producer and writer, working alongside Brianne Drouhard. Campbell previously worked with DC for My Adventures With Superman, Justice League: Warworld, Legion of Superheroes, Justice League Action Shorts and Teen Titans Go!. Drouhard worked on the Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld miniseries, Teen Titans, and Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo.
