New Promo For ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Spoofs ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’
A new Lilo & Stitch live-action remake poster and promo partner with Mufasa: The Lion King for a quick parody ahead of the release of both films.
Following a quick promo last month for the upcoming reboot of Lilo & Stitch, Walt Disney Studios has just released another promo, this time spoofing their upcoming and imminent release Mufasa: The Lion King.
In the clip, Stitch (Chris Sanders) can be seen being held up by an unseen person before he breaks free and drops down onto the beach. The scene is a direct parody of the iconic Pride Rock scene in the original Lion King film. The poster takes the sight and grabs it in the moment. You can see that below:
The live-action Lilo & Stitch film is utilising similar marketing to the original animated film with Stitch appearing in other Disney films. Just last month a poster for the upcoming live-action film referenced Moana 2 with Stitch seen biting the coconut pirates Kakamora. With the live-action Snow White film releasing 2 months before Lilo & Stitch it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Stitch appear with any characters from that film next.
The logline for the film reads as follows:
A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, Lilo & Stitch is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.
Lilo & Stitch releases worldwide beginning May 23, 2025. The film, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai and Chris Sanders as Stitch.
