Xolo Maridueña To Reprise Blue Beetle Role In ‘Man of Tomorrow’

It’s been a couple years and a whole universe reboot now since fans last saw Xolo Maridueña as Jamie Reyes in 2023’s Blue Beetle film. Now, the character is joining the big leagues in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman sequel film, Man of Tomorrow.

After some online chatter in comic book fan circles on Twitter/X this morning regarding the character’s rumored appearance in the film, TheWrap’s Umberto Gonzalez has published his own report verifying that the rumors are indeed true. Xolo Maridueña will be returning as Blue Beetle in the next DCU tentpole film, Man of Tomorrow.

Man of Tomorrow finds archenemies Superman (David Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) forced to team up against the intergalactic threat known as Brainiac (Lars Eidinger). Xolo Maridueña joins an ever growing cast which also includes; Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Adria Arjona as Maxima, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and many more.

Man of Tomorrow is directed by James Gunn. The film is set to hit theaters on July 9th, 2027.
