‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ Character Details Appear Online + Exclusive Description

Star Wars is nearing the fifty year mark this next year, and to mark the occasion, a new film called Star Wars: Starfighter will be releasing. The film was first officially unveiled last year at Star Wars Celebration Japan with the director Shawn Levy and lead star Ryan Gosling making an appearance. In the time since, filming has already wrapped with the movie well into post production.

The highly anticipated movie will likely be shown off to the public some time within the next couple months. But in the meantime, more and more details have been trickling out. With recent rumors from insider, MakingStarWars, making the rounds last night.

According to MakingStarWars on X, the lead character played by Ryan Gosling will be named Cade and his young accomplice played by Flynn Gray will be named “Rone or Ronin.” The basic plot of the film as described by this insider follows Cade as he has to escort the young boy to a Jedi refugee planet called Adaria, which reportedly is “East Asian-inspired” full of greenery. This is also the same place where Mia Goth’s character reportedly will duel Aaron Pierre’s. Eva Mendes is also said to be playing a 650 year old cantina owner named Belle who is dressed in all gold.

MakingStarWars has described Ryan Gosling’s character Cade as a “Han Solo / Rogue type.” We at Feature First can exclusively reveal more details about Cade. Sources tell us that Gosling’s “Cade” character is reminiscent of Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy, with the character clad in a leather jacket and dual-wielding blasters. To drive the Star-Lord comparisons further, our sources said he also will be sporting a mask and goggles similar to those worn by real life fighter pilots (sans helmet), breathing tube included. Cade will be teaching Roan/Ronin over the course of the film and will serve as a father figure to the boy, despite not being his actual father.

Star Wars: Starfighter is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Gosling, Flynn Gray, Aaron Pierre, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Amy Adams, and more. The film hits theaters on May 28th, 2027.
