The newest trailer for Squid Game Season 2 has been released providing us a brand new look at the next round of games featuring both old and new challenges.
After the resounding surprise success of Netflix’s 2021 series, Squid Game, it was clear that we would be getting a follow-up. The second season was confirmed by Netflix with an announcement in June 2022. We also got our first teaser late last month, leading us to today where we have gotten a full trailer for the season. In this trailer we see Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) ask to return to the games. His wish is granted as we see him wear the now-iconic 456 outfit from the very first episode of season one. We get to see the new contestants play the red-light green-light game, and the group makes votes to continue or abandon the deadly games.
Additionally, Wi Ha-jun returns as detective Hwang Jun-ho from the first season. Hwang Jun-ho spends the first season infiltrating the Squid Game looking for his missing brother. Jun-Ho’s fate is left up in the air after his brother, The Front Man, shoots him off a cliff into the ocean.

The plot synopsis for Squid Game Season 2 reads as follows:
Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 456 billion won.
Squid Game Season 2 was created by Hwang Dong-hyuk. The season stars Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Si-wan, and more. Premiering on Netflix on December 26th, 2024.
