‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ Prequel Comic & Where To Find It
Here’s more on the prequel comic for Marvel’s Wolverine.
On July 23rd, 2026 the team behind Insomniac Games and Marvel Games’ next big title, Marvel’s Wolverine went to San Diego Comic Con to take a behind the scenes look at the game and among those announcements was a prequel comic which dropped on Marvel Unlimited shortly after the panel. The comic is written by Insomniac Games’ Narrative Director Walt Williams with art by Luke Ross and the cover done by Iban Coello. You can read the comic on Marvel Unlimited here:

The prequel comic consists of four issues and Logan’s time on his former team, Team X. The team, assembled by Nathaniel Essex, includes the likes of Wolverine, Sabretooth, Mystique and Sunfire. Read the official synopsis below:
“The official prequel to the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game! Wolverine and the mutants of TEAM X are preparing to infiltrate Sentinel creator Bolivar Trask’s secret base–and what they find within will tear them apart!”
What Is Marvel’s Wolverine About?
Marvel’s Wolverine follows the titular character as he rejoins his old team (Team X) to investigate the disappearance of mutants. Along the way, he’ll encounter Bolivar Trask and his cybernetically-enhanced army known as the Reavers. Read the official synopsis below:
“Marvel’s Wolverine is an action-packed adventure from Insomniac Games, the acclaimed studio behind the Marvel’s Spider-Man series. Created in collaboration with Marvel Games, it delivers an all-new original story based on the legendary comic book character.
Logan thought he was finished being Wolverine, but the past wasn’t finished with him yet. Three years after walking out on his team, Wolverine rejoins the mutant task force, Team X, in their darkest hour.
Driven by his fanatical belief in human superiority, Bolivar Trask is kidnapping mutants. Only Wolverine has what it takes to save them.
In his fight for the future, Wolverine must team up with fellow mutants across the globe through locations like Canada, Japan, and the Marvel island nation of Madripoor. With the fate of humans and mutants hanging in the balance, Logan knows the world needs a hero; however, they’ll have to settle for Wolverine.”
Marvel’s Wolverine is developed by Insomniac Games and stars Liam McIntyre as Logan / Wolverine, Krizia Bajos as Jean Grey and more. The game launches exclusively on the PlayStation 5 family of systems on September 15th, 2026. All issues of the SDCC 2026 Wolverine Prequel Infinity Comic are available now on Marvel Unlimited.
