Marvel Studios’ has set three new dates for upcoming untitled films, but with one catch… Blade is no longer dated for release. Instead, 20th Century Studios’ upcoming instalment in the Predator series, Predator: Badlands, now has a release date
A new report states that Marvel Studios, the company behind mega-hits such as Avengers: Endgame and Deadpool & Wolverine, is removing the upcoming adaptation of Blade from its release date.
The move comes after countless reports detailing turmoil behind the scenes of the development of the film. Many allege star Mahershala Ali is holding up the film, wanting to ensure quality, whilst others highlight poor management behind the Multiverse Saga, not allowing Blade to feasibly fit in.
Marvel Studios has also announced a further three release dates, all across 2028. The first on February 18th, the second on May 5th, and the third on November 10th. Presumably, one of these will belong to Blade, but Marvel Studios is also developing a wide variety of undated films ranging from a fifth Thor entry, to a third Doctor Strange instalment and an upcoming X-Men reboot..
Taking Blade’s place on the calendar is none other than Dan Trachtenberg’s upcoming Predator film, Predator: Badlands. The film will be exhibited theatrically starting November 7, 2024, a stark contrast to Trachtenberg’s last Predator film, 2022’s Prey. The upcoming film stars Elle Fanning.
