‘LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight’: What We Know So Far
Here’s what we know about the upcoming adventure from TT Games honouring the Caped Crusader as of October 31st, 2025.
LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight is the next big open-world title from LEGO Game developers, TT Games who previously worked on the large-scale LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and published by Warner Bros Games. The game was revealed on August 19th, 2025 at Gamescom. The reveal trailer showcased various moments of Bruce Wayne / Batman’s life such as training, facing off against the Joker and giving a first look at an open-world Gothman akin to the Batman Arkham games (with an inspired combat style as well). LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight is a tribute to Batman over his eighty-six years, the game will dive into his various appearances from all available media including comic books, film, tv and games even as recently as The Batman as we saw with the designs for Commissioner Gordon, Catwoman and an almost one-to-one recreation of the car chase scene with the Penguin.. Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a brand-new open world action adventure video game that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City. It’s inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games, and jam-packed with Batman nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games’ signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor.
Who’s Playable In LEGO Batman Legacy Of The Dark Knight?

LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight will feature a smaller scale roster compared to previous LEGO games, the game includes Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul making for a current total of seven playable characters. Each character will have their own set of skills, combos and gadgets such as Batman’s Batclaw, Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip.
In terms of customization, players will be able to change the outfit of the characters mentioned above with Batman having the most amount of suits available. The Batmobile and Batcycle also get some love as we’ll be able to drive versions of the iconic vehicles from across the years.
On the game’s official Twitter account there have been reveals for the Golden Age, Sonar and Animated Series batsuits on September 20th followed by the recently revealed Costume Party suit on October 31st.
In terms of the villains Batman and friends will face, they include the likes of The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, and many more to be revealed.
How To Unlock Free Golden Age Batsuit?

Players can unlock the Golden Age Suit, inspired by Detective Comics #27 (1939) by simply signing up for a free Warner Brothers Games account. When the game launches in 2026, players will simply log into their account in-game and receive the suit for free.
Lego Batman Legacy Of The Dark Knight Price And Release Date

Pricing for LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight is unknown but it’s likely to range between $60-70 USD. The game will launch in 2026 on all major platforms which include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™ 2, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
How To Unlock Batmobile Gold Variants

A new lego set based on the batmobile from The Batman will launch on March 1st, 2026. Those who purchase this upcoming set will receive The Batman Batmobile and a golden variant of the Batmobile in LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight. Pre-orders are now live for the set which costs $29.99 USD, those who purchase the set can redeem the rewards by scanning the QR code on the building instructions and following the directions.
There are also lego sets for the Batman & Robin and Batman v Superman Batmobiles which also unlock their respective batmobiles with gold variants. These sets will also be available on March 1st with pre-orders available now. Both sets also cost $29.99 USD and the building instructions will feature a QR code to unlock the items in-game.
Legacy Of The Dark Knight Interview With Jonathan Smith

During the Xbox @ Gamescom segment, footage from LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight followed by an interview with lead developer Jonathan Smith who talked more about the game stating that it will follow the years leading up to Bruce Wayne becoming Batman.
When asked about the various Batmobiles, Jonathan mentioned that as the story progresses players will be given some of the new batmobiles while others can be purchased with LEGO Studs. Studs will also be used to purchase suits, there are 100 suits available in the game. These can be purchased at various Batmite shops throughout the city alongside vehicles. Studs can also be used to upgrade gadgets and purchase items for your customizable Batcave.
Jonathan then went on to highlight that players will use Batman throughout the entire game with the other six characters playing the role of sidekicks who pop up throughout the story, this is a first for LEGO games. Jonathan also revealed the order in which partners will be unlocked starting with Talia Al Ghul followed by Commissioner Gordon then Catwoman, as Batman grows older we will meet Dick Grayson’s Robin who then becomes Nightwing and be introduced to Gordon’s daughter, Barbara Gordon who becomes Bat Girl. Each of these characters will have their own outfits and gadget upgrades.
Multiplayer was briefly talked about; you can swap between characters as a solo player or through local co-op only and you can have someone else control your partner.
Some of the gadgets popping up in the game were discussed such as the iconic Batarang, Batclaw, Grappling Hook and Batglider for Batman. Jonathan also teased that each character was also said to have their own means of traversal.
Jonathan then spoke on the types of puzzles in the game, he mentioned that villains will have challenges set up throughout the map. The player will also have a variety of collectibles such as WayneTech Chips, Bat Tokens, Trophy Pieces, Skill Bricks and more. WayneTech chips are found in story missions as well as throughout Gotham these can be used to upgrade Gadgets. Skill Bricks which are used to upgrade your traversal and combat will be found in Story Missions only. Red Bricks return and as usual they will allow for further customization and perks.
Legacy Of The Dark Knight – Behind The Legacy Featurette

On September 20th, 2025 a new behind-the-scenes video premiered for the game where DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn, DC President Jim Lee and TT Games Lead Developer Jonathan Smith as well as other members of TT Games talked even more about the upcoming title. You can view the video below:
This video talked about Batman as a character and featured new snippets of gameplay including how players enter the Batmobile in a very LEGO way. The video also included new shots of Gotham as well as the enemies we’ll face.
