‘Hytale’ Early Access Release and Pre-Order Dates Revealed

Today marks two weeks since Hypixel Studios co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme reacquired Hytale from Riot Games. Simon, fellow co-founder Philippe Touchette and a team of over thirty of the game’s former developers are hard at work on getting the game ready for Early Access.

Later that week, pricing was revealed with various editions of the game ranging from $19.99 to $69.99 USD. Fast forward to Black Friday, November 28th and the release date for Early Access has been announced as well as when you can start pre-ordering the game. Today we’ll discuss that and what you can expect when the game launches Early 2026.

When Does Hytale Early Access Begin?

On Friday November 28th, Simon Collins-Laflamme announced that Hytale will launch in Early Access on January 13th, 2026 which is only a few weeks away. The game will remain in early access for years 

The official Hytale social pages then went on to announce that players can pre-order the game as early as a month before launch on December 13th, 2025. Account Creation and Username Reservation are expected to begin around the same time.

What Can You Expect In Hytale Early Access?

Lots of Bugs – Since Hytale was officially put in redevelopment, Simon has emphasised that the game will be in a very buggy state calling it an “Authentic Early Access Experience”. He also highlights that the game is running on a four year old build, frequent updates may break things and save files could get corrupted. The team is hard at work squashing any bugs and optimising the game to make the game the best it can be for Early Access launch and the foreseeable future.

Platforms – Hytale will be made available for Windows at launch with attempts made for Linux / Mac versions. Console ports will come much later.

Exploration Mode – Players will be able to play through the games survival mode, a 16-minute gameplay for this was released on November 18th, showcasing the game’s user interface, combat system, mining system, biomes, mobs and some of the creation tools available.

Creative Mode – The mode where players can have infinite resources and do almost anything their imagination can dream of will also be available. A 27-minute gameplay video was uploaded on November 25th. We were shown the User Interface, Wide selection of materials and not only can you place these materials one-by-one there are a number of brush presets that can be adjusted to the player’s needs.

Modding & Creative Tools – From day one, modders, server owners, and creators will be able to use these in-game tools to create anything their heart desires. They will also be able to run their own servers. On November 19th, we saw a Timelapse of a Fragment Portal which was made using the in game tools.

Gliders – A very early version of the glider will be made available in Early Access, from the teaser posted on Sunday the glider doesn’t appear to consume Stamina but it’s possible that the video was filmed in Creative mode.

Hytale is developed by Hypixel Studios, the game is set to launch in Early Access for PC on January 13th, 2026. Pre-Orders begin a month earlier on December 13th, 2025.
