‘Honkai: Nexus Anima’ Teaser: Hoyoverse’s Attempt At Pokémon

Today, during the second anniversary concert for Honkai: Star Rail, fans were given a pleasant surprise when Hoyoverse announced their next entry in the Honkai series with a game seemingly inspired by Pokémon, which fans have now figured out is titled Honkai: Nexus Anima. What Happens In The ‘Honkai Nexus Anima’ Teaser?

The teaser is in Chinese dub. We open with Kiana asking, “Hey there, how’s it going?” We then see a shot of a bird on top of an academy-like building, the camera then pans down to Kiana. And her partner, who appears to be a dog that looks like a loaf of bread. She says, “Here I am, in a new plane!” (Probably a mistranslation and she’s meant to say world.). We see a shot of other characters with their partners before cutting back to the academy, where Kiana’s partner notices someone. The camera cuts to Blade with his own partner, that looks like a wolf. The two challenge each other and initiate a battle. The teaser ends with the silhouettes of the game’s characters and says, “A brand new Honkai Game, stay tuned.

Kiana first appears in Honkai Impact 3rd as one of the protagonists of the game. She is the adoptive daughter of Siegfried Kaslana and is also a vessel for the 2nd Herrscher — Herrscher of the Void.

Blade first appears in Honkai: Star Rail, he is a swordsman and member of a rival group known as the Stellaron Hunters and is said to have given up his body to become a blade. He’s loyal to Stellaron Hunter leader, Elio or Destiny’s Slave and possesses a self-healing ability.

We suspect the game will release between late 2025 and 2026. For reference, Honkai: Star Rail had its first trailer in October 2021, followed by an April 2023 release.”

Honkai: Nexus Anima is developed by Hoyoverse and is coming soon to PC and mobile platforms.
