Up until now, teams in F1 have been self-reliant on their launch events and had to handle revealing their car liveries and details surrounding their car for the year on their own. Now, for the first time, F1 will host an event that showcases all 10 team’s new cars and details regarding their future. It will be fans’ first chance to see the drivers in their new racing suits standing alongside the team principals. All 10 teams will appear as well as all 20 drivers. There will be live music and the show will be broadcast as a huge event – if this is successful, it could become the norm every year, perhaps even going around the world to multiple countries for different launch events yearly.

It’s unclear what exactly each team will be displaying and whether it will just be the liveries or include some technical information and graphs regarding the actual interior and mechanical workings of the car but we do know that every team will be attending. Whether this continues as a tradition will likely depend on the success of the event and how much attention each team seems to get from it. In the case of some of the smaller teams, such as Sauber or Alpine, they might lose out on the spotlight they would’ve got from an individual event by having to share it with huge teams such as Red Bull. Regardless, it’s super convenient and exciting to have it all streamed and able to be viewed together as a fan.

This start to the season helps to solidify it as a true event. We know that the 2025 season is going to be huge. With Ferrari improving on their car and McLaren being the fastest of the 2024 season, the championship battle has gotten really close. It isn’t over yet, but it’s looking very likely that Max Verstappen will once again take home the Drivers Championship. The field is tighter than ever and so going into 2025, it’s anybody’s game. There are 6 possible drivers that are truly in contention for the championship next year so it is going to be a big one. And, of course, perhaps the biggest deal of all for 2025 is that Lewis Hamilton will be sporting the red racing suit as he joins Ferrari. This is going to change the shape of the entire season and is probably the most anticipated part of this event. The moment every single person, including the people behind the scenes at F1, is waiting for: seeing Lewis Hamilton walk out on stage in that red suit.

Feature First will be covering the event, so make sure you stay tuned for more F1 updates and coverage of the 2025 and future seasons.
