‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Trailer Reveals New Look At Cameos and Villain
The first trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has just released which offers new looks at the cameos and villains.
The first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer has just been released. The trailer comes over two months after the teaser released during the Super Bowl — which is reportedly the most viewed teaser of all time.
What Happens In The Trailer?
The first Deadpool and Wolverine trailer sees Logan in a bar until Deadpool shows up requesting Logan to come with him. Logan rejects this offer and so Deadpool holds him at gunpoint until surprisingly, Logan leans his head forward into the gun happily smiling. The trailer teases that this version of Wolverine has lost everything he loves — ”This version of Wolverine let down his entire world,” says Matthew McFadyen’s Agent Paradox.
The trailer then picks up speed showcasing fight scenes between the titular leads in front of the 20th Century Fox logo. Continuing on, the characters are sitting in a restaurant where Deadpool says “Want to talk about what’s haunting you, or should we wait for a third act flashback?”
“You were an X-Man. You were the X-Man,” Deadpool adds as Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” starts in the background. After more bloody action sequences a new shot at Emma Corrin’s villainous Cassandra Nova is revealed (in the comics Cassandra Nova is Charles Xavier’s twin.) “Boys are so silly” Corrin says off-screen until a cut to Alioth, the enormous entity that resides in the void.
The next shot features a giant Ant-Man helmet opening to reveal a giant sized skull still inside, which could presumably be the remains of a Hank Pym or Scott Lang variant. In front of the giant helmet are characters from past X-Men films such as Lady Deathstrike from X2 and Azazel from X-Men: First Class. More quick shots feature Mad Max-esque cars in a barren wasteland and Dogpool. Afterwards, a new scene between Wolverine and Cassandra Nova is shown with Nova manipulating Wolverine telepathically.
Moving on, Deadpool and Wolverine both say “Lets fu**ing go” before jumping into a mystic arts portal from Doctor Strange. To cap off the trailer a new scene between Wade and Blind Al is shown with Blind Al suggesting they do cocaine and Wade responds with: “Cocaine is the one thing that Feige said is off limits,” hilariously referencing the steward of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What is ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’?
Deadpool & Wolverine sees Wade Wilson retired from superhero life when suddenly the TVA from Marvel Studios’ Loki shows up to recruit the merc with a mouth.
The film will see Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine appear on screen together for the first time (Ignoring the terrible iteration in X-Men: Origins: Wolverine and the post credit scene for Deadpool 2). Since the announcement that Jackman would be reprising his role, the film has been slowly building anticipation among fans.
Speculation that has run rampant as new rumours are seemingly released everyday. This results from the plot heavily involving the Marvel multiverse, setting the stage for any previous characters to cameo. For instance, the Super Bowl teaser showed a glimpse of this when Aaron Stanford’s Pyro from X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand appears briefly. Additionally, Jennifer Garner will reprise as Elektra who she played in 2003’s Daredevil and 2005’s Elektra. Furthermore, this has allowed speculation to blossom on whether or not Ben Affleck will cameo as his Daredevil.
To top it all off, Karan Soni, who reprises his role as the taxi driver Dopinder, revealed fans will be blown away by the film, adding: “There are a lot of surprises. Let’s just say a lot of people travelled to London,” (London is where the film was shot).
How Long Could The Film Be?
We have previously reported the film had a runtime of 2 hours and 10 minutes, however the film will most likely be cut down before it debuts in theatres, so the runtime is expected to change.
