Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' Adds Elliot Page and John Leguizamo

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is reportedly set to start filming in late February, so casting news is coming quickly. Two new casting developments have been revealed.

John Leguizamo is set to join the cast of The Odyssey. It will be his first time working with Christopher Nolan. Leguizamo is best known for his roles in Carlito’s Way, Romeo + Juliet, Summer of Sam, and John Wick. This news comes from insider Jeff Sneider in his newsletter.

Elliot Page will be reuniting with Christopher Nolan with The Odyssey. He was previously in Inception, so this marks their second film together. This news comes from insider Daniel Richtman on his Patreon.

It’s unclear who either actor will be playing, considering the secretive nature of the film. The film currently stars Matt Damon and Tom Holland as the leads. They are surrounded by the talent of Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, and Elliot Page.

There will almost certainly be more casting news soon, considering how loaded Christopher Nolan’s castings can get. The Odyssey reportedly has a $250 million budget. The film will shoot in is set to film across Morocco, the UK, and Italy and is currently in pre-production, with filming set for late February. The Odyssey will be an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem of the same name.

Insider Daniel Richtman also revealed that Elliot Page would be considered for a role in Christopher Nolan’s next film after The Odyssey. It’s rumored that the movie is titled Die Early and will be filmed sometime next year.

It is, however, only a rumor at this stage, and if we’ve learned anything about rumors surrounding Nolan films—they’re usually completely inaccurate. However, if the casting is already being considered and the Elliot Page rumors are real, there’s always a chance that the project is indeed real.

Robert Downey Jr. still has to film two major Avengers films, and Christopher Nolan is tackling perhaps his most ambitious film, so it’s to be seen if they will both have time, but they have both indicated that they want to work with each other and maybe this film is the vehicle that gets them there.
