‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ Timeline Placement And Other Details Revealed

How many years has it been since The Legend Of Korra? Find out in this article.

It’s been over a decade since the final episode of The Legend Of Korra aired on Nickelodeon and the television side of the franchise was seemingly put in a never-ending hiatus. However, hope has finally been reignited in 2026 with the release of the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender film in July and in a little under a month fans will be introduced to an all-new avatar in Avatar: Seven Havens.

Avatar Seven Havens creators Michael Dante DiMartino, alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi were interviewed as part of Polygon’s 2026 Fall Preview where they revealed some new details about the series, including the timeline placement which we’ll discuss below.

Starting things off, Michael Dante DiMartino mentioned that from the get-go the series was created with a heavy emphasis on mystery. DiMartino hopes that the series will urge viewers to ask questions such as “How did the world get so bad? Why does everyone hate the Avatar? How did Pavi lose her leg?”

How Long Is Avatar Seven Havens Set After The Legend Of Korra?

As stated by executive producer Sehaj Sethi, Avatar Seven Havens will take place approximately 225 years after the events of  The Legend Of Korra. With such a massive time jump it appears that Korra had a very extended lifespan, which is no different from Avatar Kyoshi, who famously lived till 230 Years.

Next up we learnt some new details about Ellora, which serves as the central city of the series. Sethi explains that the city is set within a number of slot canyons which act as a natural defense system against sandstorms and tornadoes that plague the borders.

Ethan Spaulding added that the city is home to over one million residents. While the city centre is exposed, the rest of the city is safely hidden within the canyons.

Sethi says that Ellora features a mix of all bending philosophies and cultures and that Ellorans share the common goal of survival, which leads to their motto, “For the survival of Ellora”. Sethi closes by stating that the people’s fear of the Avatar gives the series high stakes, as Pavi must protect her identity from those around her.
