New ‘Minions & Monsters’ Trailer: Mayhem In Hollywood
In an effort to make their own film, the minions may have just brought upon the end of Hollywood as we know it. Check out the final trailer below.
Today the final trailer for Minions & Monsters has been released, approximately two months before the film hits theatres. You can view the trailer below:
The trailer which lasts for 2 minutes and 32 seconds opens with a black and white animated Illumination opening featuring three minions. We cut to a giant limo approaching, members of the press excitedly click pictures as we see a group of Minions wearing golfing attire. A TV announcer says, “In Hollywood, the new stars of the silver screen changed the face of the motion picture industry forever.” We see some minions putting their handprints at the Walk Of Fame. One of the minions is pushed and they get stuck to the concrete, the other minions and the press laugh.
A bottle of champagne is popped, one minion is seen wearing a diamond necklace that says “RICH” while the other two are passing out money. The announcer says, “The Minions are back…” We see a party happening in a mansion. We then cut to a noir film where the announcer continues, “With a touch of mystery.” In this noir film, a minion plays a detective, his love interest approaches him and leans in for a kiss. He says, “Buddy.” while she responds, “Oh, Humphrey.” The minion reads his lines on his hand and continues, “Pinata. Carbonara. Lasagna.
We cut to a black and white shot of a train, the announcer says, “Now, in Minion vision,” the aspect ratio changes and the scene gets color. The train is off the rails, charging throughout the studio. The conductor minion says, “Toot. Toot” while the other pulls the break. The train is headed for a while and a group of cast members try to stop it, the director also steps in and the train stops just in time before falling apart. We cut to some minions readying the scene followed by the director talking to a minion named James, he says, “James, you have a real gift for filmmaking” we see James in an abandoned building making sketches which he eventually turns into a poster for a film titled, “Minions Y Monstras.”
We cut to the scene of James and his friends summoning Goomi (Trey Parker), Eminem’s “Houdini” is briefly played before Goomi celebrates his freedom. Goomi introduces himself as Gary Orkam Oliver Magma Ichabod the Deceiver. James shows Goomi his movie poster and Goomi responds, “I know the perfect monsters for your movie.” Goomi takes them to an island, James notices an otter in the water with a shark right behind them, James rescues the otter but the shark begins to eat the boat. Goomi roars, scaring the Shark, the Otter jumps on the Shark’s head and they both run away. Back at the studio, Goomi uses a spellbook and, assisted by the two monsters from the first trailer, Goomi summons Irene, an orange slime covered with eyeballs.
Irene destroys the studio and begins consuming everything in her path. We cut to Goomi who says, “She is going to destroy everything on the planet”, she manages to destroy part of the Hollywoodland sign making it simply “Hollywood” which is probably the in-universe explanation for Hollywoodland being renamed. We see a minion trying to poke Irene’s eyes to stop her and we cut to James charging towards Irene in a milk truck, we see all the things that she has consumed. We see a flashback where the director says, “James, you’re going to do great things.” James then exits through the other side of Irene and we cut to the Minions readying themselves for war. One is dressed like a regular soldier, another draws whiskers on their face to represent a cat and the last one is dressed like a killer clown.
Goomi is seen riding Irene, he has a sinister smile and we cut to the Clown Minion who shoots Irene with fake guns before stripping down to his underwear and charging at her with a chainsaw. The Clown Minion is sent flying back and the Minions & Monsters logo is shown. At the end of the trailer, we see a Guard Minion in a throne room sleeping on the job, he lets go of his axe and chops off the head of a king. The other Minions in disappointment say, “Awww, Patrick!”
A new poster for Minions & Monsters was also released which shows our protagonist James surrounded by the eyes of Irene, the orange slime monster which Goomi summons to destroy the planet. You can view the poster below:
What Is ‘Minions & Monsters‘ About?
Minions & Monsters is the third entry in the Minions prequel series of the Despicable Me franchise. The film follows a new group of Minions tasked with finding monsters for their upcoming film. Read the official synopsis below:
This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.
The film was first announced in July 2024 following the release of Despicable Me 4, with Pierre Coffin and Brian Lynch returning to direct and write the film, respectively. The first trailer aired on February 8th, 2026 with a Super Bowl Promo also premiering at the same time. In the first trailer, we learn that the Minions wrote a script for their first film and are now in search of monsters. They summon a cthulu-like creature named Goomi who aids them on this quest.
The following month, a new video titled “Minions & Monsters | Official Cast Announcement” was released on the Illumination YouTube Channel. Trey Parker, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Bobby Moynihan, Phil LaMarr, and Allison Janney were announced as part of the cast.
Minions & Monsters is directed by Pierre Coffin and stars Trey Parker as Goomi, Christoph Waltz as the film director, Jesse Eisenberg and more. The film hits theatres on July 1st, 2026.
