The release date for The One Piece has just been revealed alongside a new poster, episode count and more.

The One Piece is an upcoming remake of the original One Piece manga animated by WIT Studio (Attack on Titan Seasons 1-3, Suicide Squad Isekai) for Netflix. Read the official synopsis below:

“Produced by WIT Studio, THE ONE PIECE is a brand new anime adaptation starting from the original manga’s East Blue saga. Separate from the TV anime series that has charged full speed ahead over the course of more than 25 years, this series taps into the expressive potential of modern technology to offer a familiar yet fresh take on the adventures of Luffy. The rare footage of character design sheets and image boards showcased in this video provides a glimpse into the world of this new anime.”

The series was announced in December 2023 at Jump Festa ’24 for the 25th Anniversary of the One Piece franchise as a remake of the original manga starting from the East Blue story arc. The announcement was accompanied with a video on the Netflix YouTube channel which you can view below:

Fast forward to April 7th, 2026 and we saw a new video titled, “『THE ONE PIECE』- A Glimpse Inside the Creation of “THE ONE PIECE” | Netflix” on the Netflix YouTube Channel and while a release date wasn’t given we saw some of the character designs and art from the series.

It’s been a month since that video and today Netflix has dropped the first poster for The One Piece including a release date and episode count. We’ll discuss everything in today’s article.

When Will ‘The One Piece’ Premiere On Netflix?

Per the official blog post, The One Piece will premiere on Netflix in February 2027. Season 1, which covers the first 50 chapters of the manga will consist of 7 Episodes with a total runtime of approximately 300 minutes, all episodes will drop on the same day. The blog post states, “The season will lead up to Luffy’s encounter with Sanji, the sous-chef of the floating restaurant Baratie.”

As mentioned above The One Piece begins with the East Blue Saga, Netflix has provided a description of that saga which you can read below:

“The East Blue is the introductory saga of the manga, when fans first meet Luffy. It’s named after an expansive ocean, which is the birthplace of the infamous pirate Gold Roger, who inspires Luffy to become a pirate himself and find the One Piece treasure. It’s in this chapter that Luffy meets his ragtag pirate crew, dubbing them the Straw Hats. “

Above, you would have noticed that the first poster for the series has been released. The poster shows a young Luffy alongside Red-Hair Pirates captain Shanks, first mate Benn Beckman and bar owner Makino.

What’s Next For One Piece On Netflix?

The One Piece isn’t the only thing fans can look forward to in the coming months. A two-part LEGO™ ONE PIECE animated special is set to air on September 29th, recapping the events of the first two seasons of the live-action series. Read the official synopsis below:

“Debuting Sept. 29, the LEGO™ ONE PIECE animated special is a two-part retelling of the unforgettable events from Seasons 1 and 2 of the pirate saga. Follow along as Usopp, the Straw Hats’ most reliably unreliable narrator, regales the newest and cutest recruit, the reindeer-boy hybrid Tony Tony Chopper, with the group’s epic exploits across the East Blue and into the legendary Grand Line. “

Next up is the third season of the live-action One Piece series, ONE PIECE: The Battle of Alabasta which is also set to premiere sometime in 2027. Read the official synopsis below:

“In a season defined by unbreakable bonds and impossible choices, the Straw Hats must face a brewing civil war and a powerful warlord to save Vivi’s kingdom before it crumbles into the sand.”

The One Piece is directed by Masashi Koizuka and animated by WIT Studio. The series is coming to Netflix in February 2027.
