‘Miami Vice ‘85’ Officially Locks In Michael B. Jordan & Austin Butler For Lead Roles

It’s been some months now since any news on Top Gun Maverick director, Joseph Kosinski’s upcoming reboot of Miami Vice. Back in the Fall is when word first got out that Academy Award winner Michael B. Jordan and Academy Award nominee Austin Butler were circling the starring roles of Tubbs and Crockett. And at long last there have been some developments on what’s going on with the lead roles in Miami Vice.
Universal Pictures has now officially confirmed that Jordan and Butler have indeed been cast as the leads of the film, which also got a new title, Miami Vice ‘85. The film directed by Joseph Kosinski (F1, Top Gun Maverick) will be shot in IMAX and is currently slated to release on August 6th, 2027.
