PlayStation State Of Play Set For June 2nd
Here’s what you need to know about next month’s showcase featuring an all new look at Insomniac’s Wolverine.
Sony has just announced the date for their next State Of Play Showcase. The event is set to air on June 2nd, 2026 at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET and by the looks of it, this State Of Play is one you don’t want to miss. You can view the presentation below:
Starting things off, we can expect a new look at Insomniac Games’ next big title, Marvel’s Wolverine. The game had its first gameplay trailer during the September 24th, 2025 State of Play and the developers noted in a behind-the-scenes promo that we’d have more details about the game in Spring 2026. The release date was also set for September 15th, 2026 back in February.
With Marvel’s Wolverine being the only game highlighted in the announcement, it’s sure to have a big presence in the presentation which has been confirmed to run for at least 60 minutes, the PlayStation blog tells us to expect, “updates, announcements, and gameplay reveals from top studios around the world.”
Another interesting thing to note, in addition to being streamed on YouTube and Twitch, the State Of Play will be shown at select Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in Raleigh, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, Dallas / Fort Worth, and New York City. Between this and the recent rumblings of the “Only on PlayStation” branding making a resurgence, it seems like next month’s State Of Play is sure to turn some heads and establish a strong first-party lineup for the console. Tickets for the State of Play can be purchased for free on the Alamo Drafthouse website, which you can view here.
The website also mentions “a themed menu of claw-worthy bites and cocktails, as well as exclusive giveaways” that attendees can participate in while watching the event.
This event is only one of many upcoming showcases as we approach the start of Summer Game Fest on June 5th, so fans are in for an exciting few weeks.
