Aaron Pierre Joins Cast Of Superman Sequel ‘Man Of Tomorrow’

Just last week, audiences got a taste of what to expect out of Aaron Pierre as the intergalactic space cop, John Stewart, in the first trailer for HBO’s Lanterns series. The trailer saw John Stewart being mentored by veteran Green Lantern Hal Jordan (played by Kyle Chandler). Now the latest move for the DCU is to bring Aaron Pierre as John Stewart to the big screen in the sequel to James Gunn’s Superman, titled Man of Tomorrow. This news was first reported by Jeff Sneider.

Man of Tomorrow will primarily focus on Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and Superman (David Corenswet) as they are forced to team up against the super-intelligent alien conqueror known as Brainiac (Lars Eidinger). Aaron Pierre is just the latest addition to this film’s growing cast which also sees the return of Superman cast members Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, María Gabriela de Faría, Frank Grillo, and Skyler Gisondo. The film is also reportedly casting for an actress to play the alien queen Maxima from the comics.

It is currently unknown if the other members of the Green Lantern Corps, like Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), will make an appearance alongside Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart in Man of Tomorrow. Luckily for fans though, all three will share the screen this August for Lanterns. 

Man of Tomorrow will hit theaters July 2027 and is directed by James Gunn and stars David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, María Gabriella de Faría, Frank Grillo, and Skyler Gisondo. Lanterns will premiere this August on HBO and stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart.
