‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 2 Episode 6 Review: Strong Story Development
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Episode 6 continues a turn around for the season that pushes the show into the positives.
Nearing the finale of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2, the plot is finally progressing at an interesting rate, paying off a lot of the setup that was presented in the first 5 episodes of the series. And as we reach the climax of this The Sea of Monsters adaptation, we finally are beginning to see the start of some closure for the story. Read our Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Episode 6 review.
Picking up following last episode, which saw Percy (Walker Scobell) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) narrowly escape the Sirens, leaving the episode on a cliffhanger as they reach the Island of Polyphemus. The season follows Percy, Annabeth, Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn), and Percy’s half brother Tyson (Daniel Diemer), as they journey to find the Golden Fleece to save their camp, as well as saving Grover (Aryan Simhadri), who is imprisoned by the Fleece’s protector, the cyclops Polythemus. But that’s not all, as Percy and Annabeth must reach the Fleece before Luke (Charlie Bushnell) and the forces of Kronos reach it first.

I really thought this episode was solid, especially following a pretty weak first half of the season but the second half has been turning itself around favourably. The episode mostly takes place on the island, and finally sees the reunion of our main cast of characters, bringing Tyson, Clarisse, Grover, Percy, Annabeth, and even Luke to the same place.
I think this episode excels with continuing its character values, particularly the stuff from Circe’s Island in the last episode. The plot progresses well and the character dynamics, such as Percy’s relief over seeing Tyson alive, and Tyson’s protecting of Percy.

This alone is enough to elevate it over most episodes of the show, but the additional performance of Scobell and Bushnell in the scene where they try to use the Fleece is very good. In only 3 years following Scobell’s career launch, he has surpassed his The Adam Project co-star, which isn’t saying much but its promising.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Episode 6 continues a turn around for the season that pushes the show into the positives, thriving off great performances, and a more interesting storyline. I am at this point very interested in seeing where the show takes these final two episodes.
