‘Young Sherlock’ Releases First Trailer For Guy Ritchie Series
Guy Ritchie’s next show, Young Sherlock, just released its first trailer ahead of a March 4 release on Prime Video.
Guy Ritchie’s first foray into adaptations of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic book series began in 2009, with the film Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, Jude Law as Watson, and Mark Strong as Henry Blackwood. A sequel, Sherlock Holmes: Into The Shadows, would soon be released in 2011, following the first’s success, adding Jared Harris as Professor James Moriarty.
Since then, the franchise laid dormant, at least in terms of the Guy Ritchie incarnation. But now, Ritchie is back working on a Young Sherlock series from Prime Video which just revealed a teaser, a release date and key art for the upcoming show.

Young Sherlock follows (per Prime Video) “the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days. Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.”
Now, the trailer has been released for the upcoming series, which only debuted its first look images earlier this month, continuing the usual Prime Video pattern for its non-flagship series. Watch the Young Sherlock trailer below:

The series is set to star Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the starring role, who previously played a young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the younger version of the character his uncle, Ralph Fiennes, played. The show adapts Andrew Lane’s young adult series of novels titled Young Sherlock Holmes, which in turn reinvent the iconic Arthur Conan Doyle books.
When Does ‘Young Sherlock’ Release?
Prime Video has revealed that Young Sherlock will release all eight episodes of the first season of the series on the streaming service on March 4th, 2026.
Young Sherlock isn’t the only reinvention of Sherlock Holmes coming in 2026 either, with Netflix’s Enola Holmes 3, starring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter, and Himesh Patel, likely releasing too following a production wrap in June earlier this year.

Young Sherlock is directed by Guy Ritchie, who also executive produces. The series stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes, Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes, Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes, Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge, and Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes.
Young Sherlock premieres all eight episodes on Prime Video on March 4th.
