‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Sneak Peek And Lady Gaga

Wednesday season 2 was one of the shows at the forefront of Netflix’s TUDUM event.

When Wednesday Season 1 premiered on Netflix on November 23rd, 2022, it took the internet by storm, becoming the second most watched English language Netflix series in only three weeks of its release. Approximately one month after that milestone, the series was renewed for a second season. Fast forward a little over two years and we have now received the teaser trailer for the second season accompanied by the announcement that the new season would release in two parts on August 6th and September 3rd.

During Netflix TUDUM, the streamer’s annual fan event, we got a look at the first minutes of Wednesday Season 2, Episode 1, followed by a performance from Seaosn 2 Part 2 guest star, Lady Gaga. View them below:

What Happens In The Wednesday Sneak Peek?

The sneak peek involves the first 6 minutes of Wednesday Season 2, episode 1. The trailer opens with Wednesday tied up in a basement surrounded by numerous dolls. Wednesday describes her time as an eventful summer. We then cut to six weeks earlier where we get a glimpse of Wednesday practicing her psychic abilities, she explains that she intends to use her abilities to locate the Kansas City Scalper, a serial killer she’s been obsessed with since the age of 6.

In order to locate him, she sends her severed hand companion, Thing, to locate an item from one of his crime scenes, in this case a bowling ball with a duck in it. Upon interacting with the Bowling ball, Wednesday sees glimpse of a bowling alley, mailbox, doll and the killer himself. We cut to Wednesday at the airport, she leaves her bag but the metal detector still goes off. She shows the security guard her brass knuckles followed by a multitude of other weapons. Eventually, her bag is scanned and the other security guard is upset that she has a tube of sunscreen weighing over 3.4 ounces.

Wednesday arrives at Kansas City where she encounters the Scalper, they get into a fight but Wednesday gets a vision which makes her vulnerable. Back at the basement, the scalper returns and shows off his doll modeled after Wednesday, he explains that it’s the way he remembers his victims. Wednesday says “let me show you some of my own handiwork”, a doll’s head begins to move and its eyes open. Thing jumps from behind and attacks the Scalper, Wednesday begins to free herself from the rope while he’s being attacked. Thing brings up Wednesday’s bleeding eyes which she dismisses. Finally, a freed Wednesday approaches the Scalper with a knife, she smiles, says “let’s play dolls” and the scalper screams before the clip ends.

Additionally, Lady Gaga’s role in Season 2 Part 2 was revealed. Gaga will play Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary teacher at Nevermore.

During the TUDUM live stream, Lady Gaga also gave a Wednesday-themed performance with a song lineup including “Zombieboy”, “Bloody Mary”, The Cramps – “Goo Goo Muck” also known as the “Wednesday song” and “Abracadabra”. Jenna Ortega also joined in on the performance. 

Wednesday Season 2 is created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The series stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin / Hyde and more. Part 1 of Season 2 premieres on Netflix on August 6th followed by Part 2 on September 3rd.
