‘Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires’ NYCC Panel Brings Batman To Mexico

During the DC’s Bats In Translation panel at New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 17th, the creators of Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires (also known by its Spanish name Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios) took the stage with some behind-the-scenes looks at the upcoming film, including character models and designs, as well as some stills from the film.

In the presentation, many designs were featured, but most notably designs for the Aztec Batman counterparts of Poison Ivy, Alfred Pennyworth, Two Face, Joker and Catwoman. You can find these below, alongside their adapted names:

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires is written and directed by Juan Meza-León, and stars Horacio García Rojas as Yohualli Coatl/Batman, Omar Chaparro as Yoka/The Joker, Álvaro Morte as Hernán Cortés/Two-Face, and many more. The film is entirely animated by Mexican animators and is aiming for a 2025 release.
