They eventually land on gamma radiation, the first report is shown and Peter suits up. Meanwhile Harry arrives at Nico’s house to apologise, they eventually end up heading out for food together. Back at the One Tenth base, Lonnie is confronted by Pearl and she expresses how worried she and Andre are about him. The One Tenth is attacked by an upgraded Mac Gargan wearing a scorpion outfit, he manages to wipe out most of the gang members and goes after Big Donovan. Lonnie steps in to stop him but is unsuccessful, at that moment Spidey appears to take on Scorpion. He rescues Pearl and she escapes with Lonnie while Peter holds him off. When Nico and Harry arrive home, they decide they’re cool with each other but Nico is still mad with Peter.
Peter continues to fight Scorpion, Mac manages to get a kick that damages the suit. Norman is busy looking for Otto and isn’t able to provide Peter with enough help and eventually takes off his earpiece. Scorpion breaks free from the webbing after his suit overheats, Peter asks Norman for help but he fails to respond and he eventually gets stabbed in the back. Norman gets an alert on his tablet and Peter is unable to put up a fight, with Scorpion readying his final blow- a glider that resembles the one the Green Goblin uses arrives and attacks Mac. Peter climbs onto the glider and manages to escape as the episode ends. The end credits also change showing a burning effect with each page.
Episode 8 “Tangled Web” Recap

The episode opens with Peter having nightmares of Scorpion’s attacks. He’s in a hospital room and we see a nurse draw blood from him. He wakes up much later with a cast and a few bandages. Norman appears to tell him that he’s spent the night at Oscorp’s experimental hospital wing, he also mentions that he informed May that he was staying over at Harry’s so she wouldn’t worry. When Peter tries to get out of the hospital bed to put a stop to Scorpion and Otto, Norman denies him stating that the suit has been severely damaged and Peter needs rest. Norman expresses that Peter needs to stop holding back, only when he’s at his full potential can he stop Scorpion.
A little later, Peter leaves the hospital bed and rushes to Asha’s scream. Peter to his surprise is greeted to his project fully functioning, even Dr. Wittman is pleased. We see a bunch of different animals being brought into Oscorp for a secret project. Peter goes back home where May is shocked to see his bruises, he talks about everything that’s going wrong and May comforts him. We cut to Otto’s lab where he’s playing a mining game, Vincent calls him to check in. Otto mentions striking a deal for one of the earth’s rarest metals, likely Vibranium. Vincent offers to bring Otto some soup which he gladly accepts. A SWAT team breaks into Otto’s lab, they are quickly taken out by some mechanical arms found around the lab.

We see Otto use more of his gadgets to take care of the remaining SWAT members and eventually exit the lab. However, more SWAT members alongside Secretary Ross are waiting for him outside. Otto walks away but he’s stopped by Iron Man and is arrested. We cut to Peter calling out to Nico, it appears he’s in a nightmare sequence featuring other characters such as Norman, Lonnie, Pearl and Scorpion. He wakes up and his injuries are healed, he scrolls through all the text messages he’s sent Nico and then tries calling her. The call goes to voicemail and he tries to explain everything to Nico in the hopes that she’ll listen to it. Peter gets a call from Pearl about their latest lab project and he rushes over.
Emma is a no-show so Peter and Pearl manage to have some one-on-one time, talking about what’s happening in their lives as well as getting a few laughs. Pearl hears her doorbell and she finds Lonnie at the door, Lonnie decides to leave but Pearl chooses to hear him out. She urges Lonnie to leave but he refuses to abandon the gang eventually leading to the two breaking up. When Pearl goes back inside Peter is missing and we learn that he goes to convince Lonnie to leave the gang but his efforts fail as well. Peter returns home to an empty apartment, he remembers Aunt May’s words and goes to Norman to talk. He expresses all his frustrations and worries to Norman.

Norman once again tries to convince Peter to stop holding back, even giving his own twist on the iconic line, “With Great Power Comes Great Respect”. Norman steps out to run an errand and Harry goes back inside. We cut to the One Tenth gang where Big Donovan says he has a lead on where Mac got his enhancements. They meet Dmitri in his full Chameleon outfit, he receives some cash, tells the gang about Otto Octavius and gives them a map to his lab. Chameleon was last seen in Kraven The Hunter, where he was played by Fred Hechinger. While it’s unlikely we will see that version of the character again, it is cool seeing the Chamelon come alive from the comics yet again. Tombstone inspires the group to take on Scorpion before we cut to Harry talking about Nico while Peter walks around the office pondering about what Norman said. Peter tells Harry everything that Norman said and Harry agrees to an extent.
The two hear about a truck hijacking in Midtown, Peter wants to help but he expresses that he doesn’t have a suit until Harry tells him otherwise. Harry mentions that he’s been talking to Oscorp engineers to build a new suit, the episode ends with a reflection of a comic-accurate Spider-Man suit in the reflection of Peter’s glasses.
