New set photos reveal new information about Eggers’ Werwulf.

'Werwulf' Set Photos Reveal Beast-Like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Prosthetic-Ridden Lily-Rose Depp

Set photos for the latest Robert Eggers film, Werwulf, reveal looks at every cast member, including the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp.

After the smash hit that was 2024’s horror Christmas film Nosferatu, audiences are more then ready for director Robert Eggers’ next film. His next film? A period-accurate take on the werewolf tale, entitled Werwulf, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, and Ralph Ineson, all of whom starred in Nosferatu.

Filming for the film is currently underway in England, where set photos have been revealed showing first looks at the four cast members. Images of the films lead Aaron Taylor-Johnson, showcase him in a rugged look, bearded and shirtless, which almost insinuates he will be playing the titular werewolf.

Set photos of Willem Dafoe show the veteran actor riding a horse whilst wearing a hood. Ralph Ineson can be seen riding behind him.

Another picture reveals Lily-Rose Depp totally immersed in production, with prosthetic makeup giving the actress a deformed lip. It’s a huge departure from her other Eggers role, where she played Ellen Hutter, an aristocratic 1800s woman who was the aim of Count Orlok’s (Bill Skarsgard) love in Nosferatu.

These set photos help prove what Robert Eggers has promised audiences, aiming for 100% period accuracy, complete with period-accurate language. The costume design seems accurate too. They also tell us that Johnson will likely be the lead or at least the lead member of an ensemble.

Story details are still under wraps, but Werwulf is due out in theatres Christmas 2026, courtesy of Focus Features.
