HBO, since its inception has perhaps been the most prominent miniseries maker ever, and they are back again with Task. Task is created by Brad Ingelsby who previously made Mare of Easttown, an acclaimed HBO crime miniseries.

Task is a crime drama series featuring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey on different sides of the law.

Here is the logline for the show:

Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent (Mark Ruffalo) heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey).

Episode 1: “Crossings”


Description: After scaling back his role in the Bureau and still reeling from a family tragedy, Special Agent Tom Brandis reluctantly returns to the field to head a new, relatively inexperienced team to investigate a string of robberies. Following his brother’s death, Robbie Prendergrast earns extra cash for his family by ripping off drug dealers – but a bad tip upends his delicate balance.

Description: As he prepares for an emotional court appearance, Tom buries himself in the case, while Emily questions her obligations to the family. Later, Maeve makes a critical choice to protect her own family, while Robbie works to find a way to turn his newfound surplus into cash.

Episode 3: Nobody’s Stronger Than Forgiveness


Description: As Robbie and Cliff try to find a potential buyer, Tom and Grasso level with the Dark Hearts, and Aleah and Lizzie question Peaches’ former coworkers. Later, a raid leads Tom to a shocking revelation.

Runtime: 65 Minutes

Episode 4: All Roads


Description: In the midst of preparing for a key operation, Tom questions the loyalty of his Task Force, while Robbie and Cliff plan for their meeting at the park. Meanwhile, Perry searches for answers within the gang and uncovers a shocking truth. Later, Maeve casts doubt on Robbie’s exit plan.
