‘Subnautica 2’ Available Now In Early Access
The wait is finally over, players can now play Subnautica 2 for the first time and explore this all new planet.
After almost two years, Subnautica 2 has finally launched into Early Access on PC and Xbox devices and players can now dive into the third entry of the Subnautica franchise. The Game was first revealed at the Xbox Partner Preview Event on October 17th, 2024 and introduced us to this new planet and teased the game’s brand new mechanics. Following that announcement, we’ve seen a number of Subnautica 2-related content on the official YouTube channel, including new trailers, dev vlogs, and web series such as “Subnautica 2 | Voices from Beyond” and “Subnautica | Dive into the legacy.” You can view the official YouTube channel below:
The game is available for purchase on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Xbox for $29.99 USD (regional pricing is also in effect). Subnautica 2 is also supported on the Steam Deck, ROG Xbox Ally, and cloud gaming service Nvidia GeForce Now. Please note, a PlayStation 5 (and potentially Nintendo Switch) port is expected much later around the release of Version 1.0
What Is Subnautica 2 About?
Subnautica 2 is the third entry in the long-running underwater survival horror franchise. This title follows a group of Alterra employees who find themselves on an all-new planet that houses a new array of underwater mysteries and dangers. Read the official synopsis below:
“Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. The ship’s AI insists that your mission should continue. Stranded and faced with near-insurmountable odds, you must do everything in your power to survive. The future of humanity on this world is in your hands.”
Subnautica 2 is developed by Unknown Worlds. The game is available now in Early Access for $29.99 USD on PC (Steam and Epic Games) and Xbox Series X|S.
