Star Wars: Skeleton Crew follows a group of students who uncover a mysterious bunker on their home planet of At Attin, they eventually get lost in the galaxy and must find their way home making friends and foes along the way. Read the synopsis:
Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined..
Where we last left off, the crew finally found the coordinates to At Attin but unfortunately, Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) betrayed them. Jod challenged Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) to a duel for the title of Captain and succeeded causing the kids to escape.
Despite its shorter runtime I absolutely adored this latest episode. I finally got a somewhat KB (Kyriana Kratter) focused episode that also served to strengthen the bond between the crew mates.
We learnt a bit about KB’s backstory and her friendship with Fern, there’s also a sweet moment between KB and Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) as they get a moment to become better friends. On the flip side we get a bit of development for Jod as he rallies his old crew to storm At Attin, Jude Law gives a great performance as usual and includes a bit of his signing talent.
I’m also amazed by the visuals of the creatures and machines featured in the episode, they were both so detailed that I had no room for complaint.
Finally we see how the crew has grown not only as individuals but as a team which shows massive payoffs in the climax of the episode as they work together and use the skills they’ve picked up along their adventure to avoid imminent danger.
Overall I’m happy with the way this episode was handled, I came in a bit worried that the episode would fly by but instead, it provided a lot of character development with a small sacrifice of story development.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 6 was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard and stars Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, Kyriana Kratter as KB and Robert Timothy Smith as Neel.
